Looking to upgrade lighting in 12g Nano-cube Deluxe

Hello all..............I've been neglecting my 12g nano lately because my 125g has takin me over for the time being. I'm ready to focus on the little again. Can I upgrade the current lights with something better than stock. I really dont want to replace the hood setup so I would need to use whats there.
Also, I have a fine sand bed in my larger tank and was looking for somthing different in the nano......any suggestions????????????

To upgrade you are going to have to lose the hood. Go with sunpod they make a nice MH setup with lots of mounting options. You can do a 75w for like $175.00 or so.

PerfectDark sent me a link because I was in the same spot as you. Its a DIY kit with instructions, but you dont lose the hood. If you want I can PM you the link, but all credit to PerfectDark

Keeping the hood on would make things really difficult because the extra heat generated by anything more powerful for lights would need some very powerful fans to cool the hood as well. It would be much easier and cheaper to go topless and get a pod type light or a pendant.

anyway...........I decided to move my nano into my office and the spot I'm gonna place it allows me to hang a new unit.........
should I go with the sunpod???

I like the sunpods myself.
As far as your substrate, there's a couple different colors. Black, pink, gold. Just google "samoa pink live sand" and go to the first link to see a nice selection of sands
