looks like rust HELP ASAP

I have a 20 high i started about 9 days ago and i have live sand and lot of nice auqa culture live rock and i noticed yesterday when i got home there was like a rust colored film or somthing on my sand and my rock and i woke up this morning and it even worse please help and tell me what it is and how to get rid of it

its probably just algae...sounds like your starting your cycle.

sounds like a diatom bloom ... this is perfectly normal for a new system and with the addition of a cleanup crew after the cycle it will pass.

its growing or spreding all over my live rock whitch i payed alot of money for and its really nice, like covered in coraline algea and stuff, will it hert my coraline or not?

and i have a 24inch Corallife dual strip compact frlourecent light 130watts is that enough or too much as well?

it won't hurt the LR and the lighting sounds good.

and how long will it do this? i have the tank at 82 degrees farenhight is that too high? I already have 2 percula clowns in there they have been in there for about six days and are doing great. and eating good two. what do you guys think about a engineer goby, are they good for your tank or no?

and when you mean the addition of a clean up crew do you mean like a lawnmower blenny or what shoul I get?

I also have a very small pawerhead in the tank as well and for filtration i have a Penguin 350 on it is the filtration to much?

... has the tank cycled yet? if not, you shouldn't have any fish in there.

I would not put fish in this tank yet. Use snales and crabs for clean up. It will go away if your water quality is right.

they tank is new but the live rock was cured and I put about 6 gallons of reef water thats been set up for 10 years from my LFS that they let me have, is thatgood?

Are you saying the water was 10 years old? :thinking:

What are your Water Parameters?
Did your system spike yet during the cycle?
How long have the fish been in the tank?
There is a good chance your system isn’t even cycled yet if it has only been 9 days. Also, how much Live rock do you have and is your sand “New” or Live Sand?
