lost 2 clown fish..new ones...grr..

over the past 2 weeks have lost 2 clown fish...i think im getting bad clowns...i have had 2 damsels inmy tank for 2 months with no problems..i went to another store and the clowns they have are 2-3 times larger...the clowns i bought were only about 1" - 1&1/4" at most...i think thet are way to small after seeing those other clowns..
any thoughts...

did they look like they were beat up on by the damsels? like frayed fins or anything when they were dead? or were they just, dead?

looked pretty good..when first put in bulled a little by one damsel..but after a day or two they left em alone..because the clowns hung oot in my anenome..i am a loss of why this happened...
