Lost everything have question

I lost everything during power outage caused by hurricane Gustov. I removed all live rock and cleaned in fresh water. Do I have to remove sand??

Sorry to hear this. Syphon your water and sand but not too much so you can still have good sand to start again if you still have the energy and disposicion. Sorry to hear you accident

Nice choice. This will be a trooper. Now, you can still use the same live rock and sand since the "crash" was caused by temperature changes and light issues not by a decease or anything like that. I hop you will still want to work on the tank.

I feel you on this one. I had a total wipe out due to a brace giving way at the seal, light fell in for 2 to 10 hours. only on surviver my brother named him O.T.S.S. (only the strong survive). Its a small damsal with a BOLD BOSS temperment, runs the tank , picks on my lion. I hope you start it back up good luck.

i recently had a 14 hour power outtage that killed 90% of my livestock. i left everything as it was and just started from there.
how long was the tank down?

Wow that sucks. I had a power outage once for 9 hours in the winter but i lit candles and sat them beside my tank and i bagged up a bunch of heat packs and threw them in the tank and everything survived.

yes this happened to me as well back in 2004 for hurrican jeanne. Went and bought a generator right after... Best 1300 dollars i ever spent!!

i just lost my livestock like 30 mins ago. i turn off my lights like 2 hours ago and started to see all my fish on the floor. and they wernt sleeping. i took everything out and put it in my fowlr tank. 1 out of my 3 yellow tangs survive. and my maroone is still trying. my chromis with my lemark angel are good so far. but im still worried for my maroone. but im really
for my 2 tangs that died.
it kills me

if this is to me. then so far my clown, 1 yellow tang, chromis, and goldedn head sleeper made it. my lemark died today in the morning

no it was late when it happened. and i havent gotten the testing kit. but ima go to my lfs today to test the water. but right now i dont what the tank.
