Lots of bubble algae in Refugium. O.K.?

Is this a potential problem in the dp or will it stay in the ref? Should I remove the LR and take the bubble algae off, or leave it to remove nutrients?
Thanks,
Tom

You have to get them out. They are filled with tiny algae spores. If they bust, all those spores will get pumped through to your DT and then you will have it in there.

That's a bummer. How about if I dump a couple of emerald crabs in there? Will they help or accelerate the problem by popping them?

They say that Emerald crabs will at them but I would think that as soon as the crab pops the bubble, the spores will be released. I've only ever had one bubble algae. I did a water change and knocked the bubble loose and sucked it out with the syphon. I did this so in case the bubble did pop, the spores would get sucked out. I then poped the bubble and it is filled with liquid, it is not solid.

It is not good to have as it will overtake other items in the tank such as zoanthids etc.
Emerald crabs (mithrax) will take care of the bubble algea. Them eating it WILL NOT CAUSE THEM TO SPREAD.
