lots of little tiny bugs?? what are they??

Hello, I turned the lights on this morning on my tank and notice there are millions of little tiny things floating, swimming, crawling...all over the tank. They are smaller than a tiny bubble, anyone knows what they are? Are they harmful to the tank? They make the tank looks really cloudy. What should I do?

yup, they are some kind of pods. and yes they are very good for your tank. i always get really excited when i see a cloud of them. unlike freshwater tanks, with saltwater tanks, you want as many different types of life in the tank that you can have because it makes the ecosystem more stable. pods are great because SO many things eat them too. feather dusters will eat small ones (as will other filter feeders). mandarin gobies (aka dragonettes) are BEAUTIFUL fish that feed exclusively on pods. there are many other popular fish that require lots of pods in the tank. in addition to being food, pods also help clean up your tank, they will eat little uneaten bits of food and other waste that has fallen to the bottom.

generally they hike in on your LR and in the LS.
great little cleaners and food for soem of your fishes.

WOW! That's a good thing to have...consider myself lucky so far...My tank is only 3 and a half weeks old, and things are growing nicely...
I have added an additional three percula clowns today to try keep the fighting down between the first three that I got. Now that I got 6 of them, hopefully they will school together and not fight as much or better yet, paired up each other. (Two has done that already, swimming and hanging out together)
I will try to find another green bubble tips anemone so that other pairs can adopt into it.
Thanks again for this great forum that provide so much information to help newbie out like myself.
:D

DONT GET AN ANEMONE! please
you should not have any in there now, i do prefer to cycle without fish, which you have decided to do so with, but anemones cannot and will not survive a cycle, so please don't do that, their mortality rate is way too high as it is. They shoudl not veen be in young tanks eitehr.

I love when something spawns and my tank get lots of little critters shooting thru the water. Silver Did you find this site before you decided to dump an insane amount of livestock in your tank so quick. I would feed your fish Garlic with your food to prevent the outbreak of bad mojo that your tank will likely in my opinion go thru very shortly. If you did find this site before you bought all this stuff then why did you put in all that stuff. If you did not find this site until after you overstocked your tank then read, read, read because this place will save you a ton of money and heart ache. Good luck with the tank

stocked way too fast, but overstocked, you really think so? course i have no knowledge about inverts (only that they're much less forgiving of their conditions than fish), i guess i assumed they'd require less space than fish. 16 of anything is quite a lot.
silver, have you been monitoring the levels in your tank as you added livestock? 6 days between your initial setup and adding livestock is really fast, your tank can't have finished cycling at that time--usually you wait a week after your ammonia and nitrites hit 0 before adding anything. and what is Jarkarta unseasoned LR? do you mean uncured or is that a type of LR?
lastly, i'm not sure about this, but is a 150 watt heater suffcient for a 90 gallon tank? anyone know?

forgive my ignorance ut i'm curious,if he's getting these pods which are apparently a good thing, does it mean his tank is doing (against all expectations) well?

Well, I didn't find this site before I got my tank started...
The LR were put in the same time the tank started, LR been curing for about 2 weeks before they were put into my tank.
I have checked all the levels almost everyday, and all levels are at min. or normal range, even the LR are starting to grow with different things with brillant colors...
All the fish I had so far equal to about 10 inches total. And the mushrooms, well they are doing good. The little xenia is growing as well, even there's some little snails that I have noticed the last couple of days over the glass.
So, how much trouble am I in right now?
Thanks for your tips and advice.
