i have a 44 gallong tank, i cycled with damsels.
The tank is totally cycled, all readings are fine and I have some brown algae.
I would like to put some type of clean up crew, but am not sure what I am looking for (this is my first SW tank)
Can you please give me some suggestions as to what type of fish I should add and What type of clean up crew.
This will be a FO tank.
Thanks.

you may want to have a plan on what you want the tank to hold. like the most important thing to you, such as what type of fish your are interested in. then building the tank around the needs and compatability of those fish.
because if you get a cleanup crew and you introduce a fish that eats them you would be pissed...

LionGirl Oozy is giving you good advice here. First you must decide type of fish you want get them settled a bit then other then snails work on the other members of the tank. Many fish will love you for doing the clean up crew first it would be like a buffet for them.

I know that i need to decide on the fish first ... that is why i wanted some advice on the types of fish that would be fine for a 44 gallon and then i would also like to know what type of clean up crew goes with those type of fish.
I have no idea what i want to add because i was interested in lions ... but i will be putting a lion in my 55 once i have that up and running, so now i am unsure of what to put in the 44.
Thanks for the replys

There are lots of ways to go but I would probably go with a couple of clown fish to start. I have two Clarks clowns which are very hardy but get around 5.5" the percula clowns are only around 3" and are pretty hardy also. I don't have experience with the banggai cardinals but they look really cool and are also a hardy fish. Once the tank has been established for a while you should consider adding a dwarf angel, I have a lemmon peel but the coral beauty is nice too. Play it safe and only do one angel though. Do some searching on this board for those types of fish and see what others have to say about them also. Good luck and keep posting!!

First decide if you want aggressive, tiggers, goupers, etc. community angels tangs,or gobies, etc. Once you have decide that question you need to pick the most important type of fish you want. If you want community fish then I would take out the damsels they are trouble. They maybe small but they are aggressive and can stress other fish out.
Good Luck

First, move the damsels to the aggressive tank with the lion (if they are big enough) or take them to your LFS.
Then for your 44 FO community get one or two clowns, maybe a wrasse and a dwarf angel like a coral beauty. A good clean up crew would be scarlet reef hermit crabs, emerald crabs, turbo snails and cleaner shrimps. avoid astrea snails as they die if the fall on thier back, and avoid blue-leg hermits because they eat snails. I suggest emailing this site for a custom-picked clean up crew free of shipping. HTH.
Oh, BTW do you have live rock??
