low calcium

yesterday a calcium test regestered 225 mg/l last nite I put in 2 tbs of kent turbo calcium this morning it is 255 mg/l so I am planing to put in 12 tbs I have never had to raise my calcium this much and even though the directions do not advise against this I am asking for advise from any one that has used this product the test kit that i am useing is a seatest.

How big is the aquarium that your trying to raise the cal in? Also see if you can get a salifert cal test kit (thats just a personal preference). Or at least have your LFS test as well. Two table spoons sounds severe unless you have a very big tank.

If 2 Tablespoons raised your calcium by 30 ppm - then continue to add 2 Tablespoons every other day until you reach your goal.
Do NOT try and do a 180 ppm jump all at once !!!!!!!!!!!!!
12 Tablespoons sounds like a heck of a lot - unless you have a monster size tank.
Even then - it still sounds excessive.
Not knowing the tank size as Thomas mentioned ~ would be very helpful.
But regardless ~ never try to raise any level in a marine tank by leaps and bounds.
Slower is better ;)
BTW - What's your alkalinity and pH reading ?
