i recently lowered my s.g. from 1.0215 to 1.0205, will it affect the corals or shrimp ? temp at 28 degrees celcius.

Thats not too radical of a change so I don't see a problem. But...a lot of folks seem to maintain a little higher level. I keep mine around 1.024-1.025
Lower probably works just as well. The important aspect is to keep it stable and avoid sudden changes.

Speaking of salinity, I did a science fair project a couple weeks ago for school. The question was does salinity affect the growth of macro algae. I actually won 3rd place and I am going to regionals. I made 3 sections in a tank. One was 16 ppt the other was 20 ppt and the last was normal(like 32ppt) It turned out that the macro algaes in low salinity died go figure. The judges loved it!

I won third in my 5th grade science fair showing that a rubber ball floats higher in saltwater than it does in freshwater. I'm glad I thought of that at the last minute or I wouldn't have been able to throw a project together overnight.

I have to remember that for when my kid says "but mom, it's due tomorrow!!" Thanks. (I'll be a hero in his eyes lol)

I agree to a point with NM Reef, stability is key. I have seen my tank do much better overall with the higher salinty of 1.024-25. HTH
