went to lows and bought a bag of quickcreat sand and when I tested it no bubbles with vinegar and magnet had metal shavings. So this is no good or can I use it.

Me neither. I'd see if you can find someone who still has some Southdown. I got mine from a post on another saltwater/reef site. Sure beats paying LFS prices!
Thanks guys thought that it went against everything that I had read but wanted to make sure. $3.00 is not bad to loose rather than the money in the tank. Just getting antsy waiting for my shipping notice for Lr. and want to be ready to go when it gets here.
