That is interesting, I have read though that they have sweeping tenticles and will sting other corals.
Being a 10 gal tank and the stuff I have in there whould they kill what I have already??
Also, any recommendations for something that is colorful and neat??
Thanks for the replies........

Yes, the sweepers can get quite long. Up to 6 inches or so when a coral gets large. Tank size might introduce some coral contact going on. Get a small LPS whatever it is.
I like the hammer coral and frogspawn personally

How much pc lighting? I have a 96 watt over my 10 gallon and have kept lobo and favia brains, candy canes, hammers, etc. Favia/favites will kill things placed too close, frogspawn/hammers will grow quickly and reach far with their tenticles, they will kill other corals, acans can be deadly in a large range so I'd stay away from them. Candy canes and blastos, lobo brains are good. Plates IME get a small one, mine grew quickly and moved around, they can expand quite a bit. Stay away from bubble corals.

This will be the breaking point of what you all recommended. I have 30 watts of PC with what I have in there right now.
So I need to make sure that what I do get does not require special lighting needs.
Say, anyone keep star polyps??

can you really keep brains and plates under pc lighting? I didnt know that!
I thought that they were really hard to keep and that you had to have metal halides?? Guess I was misinformed! (good news though!)

If possible get a green fox coral, beautiful, no sweeper tenticles, and very easy coral. I would post a pic of mine, but having trouble with the pics until this site works out the bugs on their new upgrade.
They need no special feeding, just good perameters.
My avatar is of my cream fox coral.

Fox coral (Nemanzophyllia) would be a good choice (they completely lack tentacles), though I'm not sure if your lighting is sufficient.
Sun coral (tubastraea) is a completely non-photosynthetic LPS, so low light wouldn't be an issue, but it will require regular feeding to sustain it (with that being the case not sure if a sun coral would be suitable for a nano as far as maintaining good water quality goes).
edit: whoops! In regards to the fox coral, Anemone posted while I was typing my reply!

Thanks all for the suggestions. Because I don't know very much about LPS corals do they need to be target fed??
Fox Coral hey, just went to their web site that I would get it from. They rate it as a number 6/10 which means difficult. But the lighting needs they have it as NO/VHO/PC lighting needs which would be fine in my tank.
They don't like hard flow and will not open up and will eventually die. Keep them out of the sand bed too. So this is certainly a possibility.
If anyone has opinions about this please don't hesitate to put it down here. The last thing I would hate is to get a coral that will not do well in my tank and crash the whole thing.
Anyone of experience with star polyps??
