LR and CC

Ok, I set my tank up about a week before I found this forum and I am stuck with CC, I could easily go to sand, but the wife likes the CC so I am stuck with it in this tank. Any issues you could think of with LR and all the critters that may come with it and CC. I also will be adding schrimps and crabs down the road too. Any Issues with them and CC?

Vacuuming CC $UCKS!!!!! Try to convince her to get the sand. Explain how you'll be getting dirty fish water on the floor when you vacuum and do water changes!:D

Hehehehe...I tried, oh how I tried. I have already spent too much for this tank as is, if I pop up another expense that is not 100% needed I may end up homeless. I got a talking to for just buying a 30 dollar test kit. :rolleyes:

question about the playsand. i've not heard of using that in an aquarium b4. do i need to wash it , condition it??? would it be safe or reasonable to add to an established tank? if so, in what proportion, etc.

Some people would tell you to wash it and then others say the dust which makes it better. Its just a matter of opinion and experience.
