Hi everyone I've been reading up on saltwater aquariums a good bit of late and am curious.....what do the majority of you prefer, fish with LR or a coral tank?? I think they both look very exotic and nice, but which, after you have put it together, gives you a larger sense of accomplishment?? I am planning on purchasing a 55 gallon tank and don't know which I would want. Also, after the setup is complete, which is usually easier to maintain?? Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

I am new, as well, however, I believe that it is best to start with a FOWLR (Fish only with live rock). A reef system is much less forgiving for a beginner.

That's a broad question. The level between the two is night and day to tell you the truth. A FO sytem while it can be challenging at first, is much easier than keeping certain corals. Personally I prefer corals....sps to be exact.
There tends to be a progression. First FO, then FOWLR then Softies then SPS and then finally SPS with clams. The trick is to figure out what you want first, it will save you sooo much $$$ to get it right the first time around.
