LR/Base Rock

I might buy about 60LBS of base rock and like 10LBS of live rock, what's the best way to cultivate it? i got normal fluorescent lights, do i need any special lighting? could i cultivate it on a rubbermaid tub like so many people here say?
Anything else i might have missed?

If possible, I would order 25 lbs of "uncured" LR. Put it in with 50 or 60 lbs of base. cure it togeather. No specila lighting, but light aprox 10 hrs per dar - adjust if excess algae. Rubbermaid tub is fine. Strong circulation. 80 degrees.
You will be happy with the results I think.

I'm getting LR Cured from my LFS. Should i ask him for uncured instead? And how do i know when it's be cultivated or completely cured.......?

Depends on the LFS
If they order it in "uncured" , and cure it themselves, then you could ask to get it when they get a new shipment in. Another thought is to ask if you can have some of the rubble that comes off duting the curing process (add to your base rock that you are trying to culture), thats if they cure it themselves.
Do a search on LR by using the "search button on this board". Upper right corner. You will find a better explanation than I could ever give.
Decay = ammonia = trites. bacteria = breakdown = trates (sort of)
When ammonia = 0
And nitrites = 0
And niteates = less than 20 its pretty much cured
