How effective is the filtration in live rock? I have a 20gal, it only has 15lbs now, but I'm thinking of adding another 15, what would the filtration it provides be comparable to? I have a small Bioload, 2 domino damsels and a CBS, small cleanup crew. Thanks for any help! also, what do i need to get a skimmer to run? do they need a pump? or an ait pump or what?i want to add one to my sump, thanks!

It's biological filtration. The bacteria grow in the little crevises and on the surface of the rock and then the bacteria go through the nitrite cycle. And for the skimmer it depends on what type you get. There are venturi skimmers and skimmers that run off of a air pump. Talk to your lfs and they should be able to help you out.
Peace

I've had two types if skimmers, the air pump & ventura type. I prefer the ventura type over the air type. Both do remove waste, but the air type requires that the air stone be clean and functioning properly. I have more work to do pn the air type, but it's not much of a problem. Just my preference.
