LR in new tank

i just bought 30 lbs of LR and with in a few hours alot of the pink algae has turned white, i assume it is dying.. anything i can add or do to slow this down ? or just normal ?

By a new tank do you mean really new, does it have salt yet, because the LR does that when there is little or no salt in the water. Also the growth can die off if the rock has been out of the water for very long like if you ordered it off a sight.

new as in 3 days.. using this to cycle my tank..

Where did you get the rock from?

If it was cured and you got it quickly to your tank, added the correct composition of salt water, you should have had little if any die off.
