Lr placement

How do some of you have your lr set up in your tanks?
My rock is currently doing a balancing act in the center on top of two chuncks of base rock.
The reason it is like this is because I read that the rock should have a space big enough for your hand all the way around for access to the glass and sand.
Is this true or can I set it up so it is a mound coming out from the glass?

I'm no expert here, but I think the only thing you should be real concerned about when arranging your LR is water circulation. Inevitably, some critter will find its way into every nook and cranny of your LR, so eventually you are going to have waste and what not in all corners of your tank. Make sure that your LR is not packed so tightly that water can't circulate around it.
I have a ridge of base rock setup the length of the tank, about half way between the front and the back. I also have another ridge of base rock lined up along the back glass. Then I piled up LR on top of the base rock, and in places, it's right up against the sides and back of the tank. My turbo snails too a good enough job with algae that I don't need access back there very regularly.
Hope this helps.

Jackson I see you have a lemon peel angel. I've wanted to get one but have heard they do not do good in captivity. How long have you had your's? Has it been healthy?

I have my LR against the back and sides of the glass. Of course I have a 29 gallon with about 40 pounds of LR so theres not much room.
I did however painstakingly create lots of cracks, holes, and caves in the structure for the fish and water current.
