LR question

I have 125g and I have had the tank up and running for about 7 months. Yesterday, my husband decided to purchase more LR because our local LFS is closing and does not have any more LR so we drove 2 hrs to pick up supplies and of course his LR. The lfs there told us that is was cured LR and 3 out of the 4 pieces appear that way but the large piece that I did not want, is now covered in red slime. I have a QT tank set up and I am thinking about putting that piece of rock in there because I do not want red slime all over my tank. Please help with any suggestions.

Sounds like you are doing the right thing. IMO you should never introduce any live rock to an established system unless you are 100% sure it's cured.
You can almost never be sure with an LFS, and unless you transport the rock from the LFS to your home submerged, it will need to be re-cured.

It is just so weird because the other LR is doing just fine, it is just the one large piece that is covered in slime. I guess I should have known better since I went to a new lfs, instead of our local one who never lies to make a sale. Thanks

heres a stpid question. can u add too much LR to a tank? (example 200lbs to a 55gal tank)

Oh and I also just tested my ammonia and it is 0.
