ls only when cycling?

hey all! Got a question im going to start cycling my tank next week w/ no lights and no lr just a 4" sand bed does this sound ok?

I think you should some shrimp to start your cycle. Dead shrimp of course.

Are you going to add LR at some point? If you are you will start a new cycle when you add it, unless you add fully cured LR one piece at a time over many weeks.

i think u need to give us alot more information. Plus, there is a chemical in the store (i hate chemicals but i love htis one) that u add when u add new fish or whenver. It is called Cycle, you add a cup full and it kick starts ur cycle..

Yes i am going to add lr later or do you think it would be better just to wait to get lr for cycling? Or to add slowly later on? I know it will take longer for cycle time if I add slowly but rocks cost money and my pro skim drained me.
