I have a 300 gallon in wall. it measures 96"L x 30"W x 24" tall. I have 2 large lumenbrights and I have 2 Diy Lumenarcs. I like them both Just trying to decided on which ones to go with.

I've been following a thread on another site -- about the same topic and I run the Lumenarc III and actually talked to CoralVue about the topic....The Lumenarcs are very nice indeed, but they actually weren't designed for the aquarium hobby, but for plants......But like anything else they were adopted over, but the LumenBright fixtures were researched by CoralVue and they reflect light better than the Lumenarcs. I heard rumor, that both reflectors were tied to CoralVue from 1 of my suppliers and asked CoralVue about that as well, and he didn't give a comment, which I heard there was a "legal" issue so CoralVue dropped the Lumenarcs'........I was also told that what is out there as far as the Lumenarc stock is old stock and they are trying to deplete in inventory.....I have done some calling around and the Lumenarcs aren't readily in stock as of last Thursday, but you can do some hunting and have them brought in if that's what you decide on to use......

not trying to hijack the thread but how are people with smaller tanks using these reflectors or are they? I looked them up and it says that they are 19.75x19.75". that seems like its pretty big

you dont. you buy the mini's or go with something more compact like Lumenmax 2 or 3's from sunlight supply. those large reflectors are designed to cover large areas from a single bulb (up to 3x3') so if you have a small aquarium thats usually not an issue.

i wanted actinic supplement, and i have a 30" tank from front to back, and i still had to go with the minis. btw- the minis are by no means small (14.5” L x 14.5” W)

a comparison was done a couple months ago on the other forum and one of the things that came out of it was that the lumen brights were better but had to be over 14" (the bulb ) off the water to maximize there potential. the lumen arcs were better closer to the water.

so if since I only want/have the 2 bulbs on top of my 210(6 long by 2 front to back) would the brights be a good idea? Reeferman if Im overstepping my boundries asking these questions let me know.
