Ok. So I've been seeing more and more about lunar lights on tanks, whats the story with them? Do they serve a purpose or is it just a nice effect. I guess what im asking is, who has one and does it have a great effect on coral health?
:notsure:

I have a coralife 36'' fixture with 10,000k and true actinic 03 bulbs with two 3/4 watt lunar lights. I believe this is the best kind of lighting around for my 30 gal reef, being i have a shallow tank. as for the lunar lights, i really like them because they allow me to see my two brittle starfish's feeding during the night. it also adds beauty to the tank when they are on. i am greatly pleased with them.

I have a current USA 65x2 watt PC with 2 lunar lights..
I love the lunars.. at first i was kinda skeptical but i think they are a big reason why my corals are growing at such a great rate!
I bought a peice of Orange cap like 2 weeks ago and I am already seeing noticable growth..
And a 2 stalks of pulsing xeina I bought a month ago have split well over 6 times now.
Along with lots of Zoo spread and mushroom growth..
On top of that it adds a awsome light effect to the room you have the tank in at night.. It allows you to see whats oing on in the tank when normaly you wouldnt be able to..
I love my lunars.. dont think i could have a tank without them now..

Agreed! I made some DIY LED moonlights for my tank, they cost less than $5 to make, and are my favorite DIY project to date. They look really cool at night, but I'm not sure if they've benefitted my tank in any way.
