Well, my Yellow tang died today. I think he was just sickly when he came to the pet store. Oh well, now I'm battling Ick on my regal tang and yellow clown goby. I've been using Ick attack, its supposed to be safe for all invertebrates but I don't think it's working, Should i make a hospital tank and get some coppersafe and dip them in it?

If it doesn't appear to be working, I would get a hospital tank and do hyposalinity. Copper should not be used on tangs. It is very dangerous to them.

Sorry about your loss natybug....Its best not to use copper. read up on hyposalinity and do this if you can.

I put my Regal Tang and Clown Goby in their own tank, I used water out of my 55 gallon so the water would be already cycled, hooked up a heater and a filter took the carbon filter out, and added rid ick, hopefully that will work, I've had good results before from it.

nattybug, you will still need to test the "qt" tank daily because the "qt" filter is not cycled and the tank water will not be enough bacteria to sustain it alone. It will likely cycle again...however, you could keep replacing the qt tank water with water from the main tank and replace main tank water with mix as long as you do not deplete the main tank too much and decrease its bio load to a point where it then is pushed into a cycle. Another Idea is to buy the bottled seawater sold now in many lfs's for frequent water changing of the qt...This will likely cost you though. And to help "seed" the new filter throw in some biospira marine...

Ugh, my biggest problem, is I live in east tennessee and i do not have a decent local pet store where i can run down and buy all the emergency stuff. also my regal tang is a baby its only about 1 1/2 inches long. But i will definately keep a watch on the QT chemicals.
