lymphocyctis treatment

i have a copperband butterfly that i have had for 2 weeks. it was eating very well and seemed healthy for the first 10 day. 4 days ago i noticed small white spots on the edges of it's fins. i gave it a fresh water dip and put it a qt. the spots are still there and for the last day it has lost it's appitite. please help!

Can you post a picture? Take a look at the lymph pictures in the Diseased Fish Thread.

here's a picture. sorry it took so long i'm having problems with my camera. the white spots are along the edges of his fins

That does look like lymph. Take a look at the examples in the Diseased Fish thread to see if it look like that....if so, then return him to your display. He will need a good environment, and good food. You may want to get him a feeding grid.

i used water from my display tank for qt but i added ro water to lower spacific gravity from 1.025 to 1.018. temp is the same, should i acclimate him to the display or just transfer him?

Can you try and get a clearer shot of him just so we can be sure? Did you look at the pictures/examples of lymph in the Diseased Fish thread to see if that is what you're dealing with?

i did look at the pictures on the disease thread and they look exactly like the spots on my fish. i acclimated him to my display tank and put him back in. what is a feeding grid?

The feeding grid is designed specifically for butterflys, so that get enough food in captivity, and get them used to not digging in rock so much.
