A clown has mysteriously disappeared. Need to rip out all 60 pounds of live rock to find, what I assume, is a corpse, or will nature sort of take care of itself?
55 gal. w/ blue tang, 2 true perculas, one other oscellaris clown (partner of the ??), picasso, niger trigger, sailfin blenny, sandsifter gobie, butterfly (all small) -- all suspects, I assume. BakPak2 skimmer and XP2 canister.

from my experience you should find it.It will decompose and make water quality unstable. However by the list of fish you have,if it did die,I am sure one of the Triggers took care of the remains.(if not doing all the damage as well)

Are triggers and clowns totally incompatible? At the store, they said it was ok as long as the other fish would not fit in the trigger's mouth. No way this one would have, at least in one piece. Not true?

These seem so well behaved when I'm watching. Maybe I need some surveillance video?
Sounds like I have to make a choice. Nice guys or mean guys?

I'm guessing that you don't have a clean up crew with the trigger right? I would just monitor (veryclosely) the water parameters and hope for the best.
I wish you continued sucess with that fish list.

Even if all the fish are small your tank is overcrowded. Is your nitrate level ok?
