Macroalgae & actinic lighting in refugium

Quick question, I am setting up a 10 gal refugium under my main tank, I will be running the lights (9w PC Coralife mini-aqualight) in a reverse cycle from the DT (fuge light goes on at night) my question is this...
Since the light will be on at night I'd rather run a blue light than a daylight. Will macroalgae (mostly chaeto) grow using only actinic lighting? Any info would be a big help.
Thanks!

Hi,
You need a light sourse that offers at least 60w...white light. According to livingreefs.com

Macro favors lighting more towards the red end of the specturm...I'd go with something closer to daylight such as 5500 K. Too much blue won't get you much growth...remember, you're trying to promote photosynthesis.
