Mag 18 90 degree intake

Is it ok to put a 90 on the intake side of a mag 18. I want to do this so I can have the 90 pointing down so less bubbles get in. I'm just worried this would cause a problem because the intake side is female and may reduce the intake. Does anyone do this is it ok to do?

I have them on all 3 of my mag 18s

i have one on my little giant pump.but i used larger diameter pipe next size up then reduced it to a small straight pipe just at the pump.i figured with the larger sized 90 it wouldnt ristrict the flow like the smaller 90 size it calls for.

ok ill try it. The problem with doing the larger size is the threads are female.

thats ok they make adapters for every size now-a-days
