Good evening all, well I just took delivery of a "Mag-7" from petsmart and I'm just hoping I didn't blow it. It's a "PONDMASTER MAGNETIC DRIVE" pump "MAG-7" in the catalog. Tell me it's the same one everyone mentions and not one specifically for freshwater, PLEASE. It say's it's mag drive, ceramic shaft, epoxy sealed etc. Is it just the way the peddle the thing?
Thanks in advance for any input!

I believe the pondmaster is the same pump, with a longer cord. You might wait for another response to be sure.

Thanks KD, I think you may be right, I'm still out surfing the web and trying to figure this out but that's *kinda* what I'm picking up.
Thanks again and later,
Paul

i saw those in petsmart just the other day and asked a close friend of mine who works there what was up with them. he says that the caseing is different for the pond version but other than that it is the same. he has given me great advice in the past but i would still be carefull.

LOL the image on your screen is me breaking down :) I'm afraid to take it apart and do my "close up and personal" inspection cuz' if I did indeed screw up I want to return the sucker. So far the only thing I see that worries me is the SS screws.
*sigh* please keep giving me advice cuz I know I'd rather not throw the money down the skimmer!
Thanks and later,
Paul

that is the pump that my lfs got me and that he uses, on his tanks as well as the one his distributer sells in their store front.

they are the same pump i have both versions ( pond version just longer cord ) only thing i did hear once upon a time was someone suggested to take the s.s. screws out and replace them with teflon or plastic ones, i didn't do this and have had no problems
