are the mag return pumps adjustable? you are not supposed to have a valve in your return line right?

i think the issues that were stated were heat, and life of the pump. but when i was reading about them it said never run them at less than 1/3 of the full power. so i thought it sounded like it had an adjuster on the actual pump.

Mag-Drives do not have an adjuster on them. There can be a ball or gate valve on the return line. The issue is to never restrict the intake of a pump. That can cause cavitation of the impeller, and burn up the pump. There is no issue to restricting a pump, on the output side of a pump, other then excessive power draw from using too large a pump, but that's sort of a moot-point.

Agree, but some large pumps will down spin, when restricted drawing less power.....
