Mag Float = Answer??

How is everybody doing? I have a question. I want to buy a mag float, but I can not find all my answers in the threads. I have a 35gal hex. Can one turn corners with the magnet, or does it have to be removed to change sided. My cleaning crew used to be great now they stay on the rock, or I see trails in the glass. I have to remove a lite dusty brown film daily. I am addicted, and all things must be perfect. I have 2 maxi-jet 1200, fluval 404, and my sand stays white. I have 930gph wich is around 27X. The lighting I have is a 250 watt MH 15K. I keep them on for 12 hours. I am thinking of purchasing moonlight strips for the other 12 hours. :help:
Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
ph 7.2
nitrates 15

They actaully handle corners great. The magnet is strong enough that you can pass right over the corner and it will stay connected.
Even if it were to come loose, it could float a couple inches away and it will still be drawn back. I love my mine.
I don't know if you are away but they make them for both Acrylic and Glass. The difference in packaging is subtle. Just a heads up.

Great Thanks....Does anyone have to clean it every day? Do I have something wrong. Has anybody used the moon lights?

I clean spots on the front about everyday for visual purposes. the fish and snails take care of the back. Although the Mag float will move around corners it doesn't remove the algea in the corners. I have a rectangle acrylic. I end up brushing the corners a little bit once a week but usually the snail get it pretty good.

Your trates are kinda high and alge feeds off them. Try to get them below five and you will clean less

I do not have a skimmer, from what I read they will help. I am wanting to buy a aqua c I hear good things about them. I change 7gal a week, should I do more changes. I am new at this. The tank is starting to look great. The fluval 404 I just run carbon in it, but I change it weekly when I clean the filter. I have around 3 inches of white aquarium sand with 40lb lr. The sand was seeded from a friends tank. Any suggestions how to bring nitrates down From what I read just keep up the water changes.

turns in the corner fines and cleans VERRRY GOOD. But if you dont use glass make sure you dont hit the sand because if the sand gets stuck on the mag float it will scratch

I hope your Ph is higher than 7.2 or you have way more problems. Nitrate wise a skimmer and more live rock would probably help. Also I have been reading that lots of small water changes like one a day rather than one big one a week will help get them down.

just remember, if you got some sand or rock caught between the magnets, remove those before you move it! my snails become very unhappy and knock over my corals when i mag float all the glass surface :p
also skimmer>most chemical/other filters, i havent had a nitrate/whatever spike after i got my skimmer running!(i always overfeed :x) you will be amazed how much gunk it will collect!
