I bought my 125 second hand, how can I find out if my tank is Acrylic or Glass? Also, Mag floats come in one model for each ...acrylic and glass, if I get the wrong one will it scratch my surface?

if u get a glass mag float and u have an acrylic tank it will scratch. but if u have a glass tank and acrylic float it will be fine.

Well then maybe it is glass : / I am 25, and hit the weights fairly hard a few times a week...I can vouch for this tank being ~150-175lbs. Either way, just get acrylic mag-float and Im good either way?

you really want the glass one if it is glass, because the material will clean better than the acryllic one.

Personally I would get a magnavore instead of the magfloat and it comes with both the glass and the acrylic pads. Couldn't stand my mag float as it didn't seem to work particularly well so never used it instead opting for a scraper. Then I finally got a magnavore which works great, just don't stick them together ;)
