Hello everyone,
It is your favorite leoprad_babe calling on all of you for some friendly advise. I was wondering what magazines you all might subscribe to. I have the foster and smith fish supplies. What can I subscribe to that will be helpful to me as a new hobbiest.

From my knowledge, I don't think they have a website. Their information can be suspect sometimes. On page 110, it clearly states:
"Yellow Colonial Polyps (Parazoanthus aximellae) do not house have zooxanthellae and reproduce readily in captivity." Now, per Eric Borneman, no one is collecting reef zoanthids from the Baltic Sea and Mediterranean, which happen to be non photosynthic. With that said, the Polyps that we get in the trade happen to have zooxanthellae. That's one of many mistakes in the magazine.

SPSfreak (or anyone with an opinion :D)
thanks, so out of all the mags which to you recommend most for reefs?
:)

If you want a magazine that is mainly for sw, anything that says "aquarium fish" is going to talk a little about sw, but a whole lot about fw and brakish and very little on reef (maybe once in a blue moon when they have it on the cover). However, all those mags that SPSFreak put on the thread are really interesting and worthy of any fish hobbyist's time. But for a mag that concentrates soley on sw and/or reef, go for a mag that says "marine fish", or "reefs". Go to your local lf or books-a-million. They've got 'em.
Hope that helps.;)
