As per the manufacturer:
IMPORTANT: FOR PUMPS USED IN SALTWATER OR HARDWATER APPLICATIONS
The magnetic impeller assembly must be removed approx every 6 weeks in order to remove calcium and mineral deposits by using the following procedure.
Disassemble the impeller off the shaft by removing the end cap and slide the empeller out of the shaft. Soak the empellor in a bath of undiluted white vinegar for a minimum of 8 hours or over night. NOTE:keep a spare to replace the one that is being cleaned. Scrub piece gently with a tooth brush under running water to remove and calcium or scale that my be still accumilated. check all parts for uneven damage or wear. reassemble parts (taking care to replace nylon washers , reinsert impeller into shaft, replace cover and screws.
