Making a refugium for a 70 gallon reef

Is it possible to do out of an Aquaclear 110? I have seen some stuff on the web that gives you steps on how to do it. So I guess I know its possible but would it help my system at all? I'm going to be putting the tank together this week and want to avoid putting anything under my tank. Thought this would be kinda cool to try out.
also if I do this will copepods be able to get from the fuge to the DP? I'm assuming they will be able to.

I’m looking into putting in a refugium myself..What I have learned so far..The benefit:
It helps to stabilize the tank, macroalgae keeps nitrates down
It is a great place to put a bad urchin
It is a safe place for copepods to breed and grow and if you want a critter like a mandarin or pipe fish that’s a very good thing.
