making a sump

anyone here make their own sump from acrylic sheets? if so what did you use to glue it together ? after you glued it together did you also silicone the inside seams?

i made my own but i used rubbermade tub(31 gal) and 2 12qt trash cans, drilled holes in tops with overflow discharge in bottom and return pump in bottom.

your best way to go is by using a rubbermaid tub as your sump and then look for another tub that will fit inside of the sump so that you can use the small tub for your bio-balls. If interested email me and i will give more details.

I use Weld-On 16 to bond acrylic to acrylic. Be sure to use at least 1/4" acrylic and a brace on top helps to keep it from bowing from water pressure.
