Making kalk

For the past few years, I've been dosing my tank with kalk, but when I mix the kalk, I am adding 1 tablespoon per gallon. It all dissolves and everything, but I just read that someone was only adding one TEASpoon of kalk per gallon. Which is correct? My calcium readings are always around 390-400.

add kalk to keep up with tank demand. saturated lime water has a ph of 12. i read of others who mix there kalk at ph of 10 becuase there demand was not high(mainly a softy tank)

No, my question is about making the kalk. I use Kent Kalk Mix, and I'm curious how much kalk I should add to the water...
