Sure sounds like a good plan to battle the moisture, another idea that may help out if that plan needs a little more is installing a dehumidifier. either on your funace system if you have central air, or a standalone unit in the basement. I have a dehumidifier that pulls out about a gallon a week out of the air, that and if you keep the machine clean, the water that comes out of it is better than RO. It is true distilled water.

whoa.... man, if I had the money, the talent, the skill, the patience.... uh...... man I want that tank! :) It's great to see some people actually carry out what other hobbyists only dream of....
now... where are those lottery tickets?...
:D
Best of luck.

was there any concern about your basement floor giving way or cracking? I'm putting in a 240 and am a little concerened about weight.

Slick: Yes there was some concern regarding supporting the weight of this tank. The key is to evenly distribute the weight, and for everything to be flat and level. My floor is 6" thick, and the house has had 11 years for everything to settle. I built the tank on one solid slab of concrete, no seams, no cracks. This is important as it ensures that if anything does move, it will move at the same rate, and keep the tank from twisting/warping.
If your putting the 220 on a concrete floor, just put it in an area with no seams/cracks and you'll be fine.

Cool Picture! Now, did the sharks give you any "territorial head butts" .. as if to say "Get the he** out of my tank!".
What was their reaction to you being in the tank?
