How exactly do you tell the difference in a male or female clown? I have one false clown in a 30 gallon now. I would like to get a pair. How exactly do I go about doing this?
The clowns will determine their own ---. If you are going to add another, you will have to add one that is smaller than the one you have now. They will then figure out which one is more dominant. The more dominant one will be the female leaving the other to be the male. If you get one that is smaller than the one you have now, it should make it easier on them to establish dominancy.

Thanks very much for the info. My clown now is about 2 inchs or so. I have had him almost 3 years.
It's a "her" now.
