So i come home last night...my lights are off and i turn to my aquarium turn on my room light and notice that half my anemone is hangin off the bottom of my emporer 330....then i take off the suction head and notice that the other half is in the filter....he crept in from a 1/16 inch opening...and made it impossible to pull him out...i was so sad...i had to cut him up and flush him down the toilet...(good bye...ani...)...so my question is will my percula clowns accept another anemone and what kind should i get now?? and lastly how do i stop this from happening again?? can i glue him or tie him down with anything??

Clowns do not require an anenome to be happy. There is great debate about wether we should even be keeping anenome, though I have had a few myself. After losing about 3 in a 3+ year reef career, I decided not to keep them. My clowns are very happy using my toadstool as a host. In fact, they didnt even care about my last anenome...they stuck to the toadstools. They will use many diffefnt corals as host...but again, THEY DO NOT NEED an anenome to be happy. ;)

Thanx for the reply...are there any other soft corals that clowns will use as thier host?? ill look into the toadstool mushroom but is there anything else??

There are several, you just dont know what your clowns may like. Even if you get a toadstoll, yours may not use it. I know there are alot that have used colt corals as host, but then you just never know. What corals do you have?
