how long have u had that scallop? i hear they neevr survive longer than 6 months

I haven't had it to long, only about a month now. Sure hope it last longer then that ! I guess time will tell :nervous:

I've had a flame scallop in my tank for about 6 months, and it seems to be doing very well, it's even beginning to grow a feather duster on its shell!

I believe it's because they usually don't get the proper sized phyto their diet requires.

thats true, they do need an awful lot of both lighting and phyto

Actually, they don't rely on photosynthesis at all...

hmm, ur right. i was just at a sight that said they need lotsa light....but now i checked a couple more and say they dont :thinking:
