There is no photoshopping on my photo fyi- if thats what you mean.
I just got a new canon rebel dslr camera, 18-55lens, and the mandarin was right in front of the glass when the pic is taken. No flash.
Here is the same fish - picture taken with my crappy cybershot camera, which had no image stabilizer and you can still see that the fish was very colorful- even though the pic is crappy! He was very beautiful.

Im not sure what you mean by 'a little too saturated' but I assume you are insinuating my picture has been altered.
This pic was originally on a post telling everyone that my mandarin had died, and it was suggested that this pic be entered into the contest by other members of this site.
This image was in no way 'prepared' or 'altered'. maybe Im just being a little defensive about my dead fish lol, but it kinda irritated me with your response.

haha oops sorry ;) well thats one damn bright fish. I have never seen one that pretty! usually if you see them that bright then the color has been adjusted. If not then im very impressed. To bad he had to pass away. This things are super hard to keep. RIP lil goby

*hugs*
You be as defensive as you want, Jess, though I certainly don't feel that you need
to defend your picture. There is no question that you captured an absolutely stunning picture of your little mandarin. It certainly would make me want to buy one if I could support it.

I posted in your other thread encouraging you to enter this picture in the contest and I am so glad that you did and I hope you win!!

Elite, there have been a couple of pics you thought were saturated, maybe your pc's color is off.. I say this cause pics look great on my computer, then I go into my sons room and the same pics look like crap. Anyway that being said...
I didn't vote earlier cause all the pics were very good and all pretty much alike. and I mean, that I'm not just being nice, they were all nice IMO. But none of them really POPPED.
Now one does, so I will vote.
beautiful pic shrimpi.
My hubby just got a cannon so we have all kinds of photo competition talk. We have yet to compare pics though. If he has your skills, I don't wanna compare with him.

Its kinda funny, This is the biggest poll I have seen yet. Arent these fish supposed to be the hardest to keep. Besides seahorses. Just an observation.
You all had great photos. It was a tough choise.

no my comp is set up for doing photo work so the colors are dead perfect. MX#28 photos are the ones I mentioned were saturated, and those I am 110% sure about. Its VERY obvious. but anyway.... Congrats! :) sorry about ur lil fishy though. You won enough to buy a new one if you choose haha.

Oh come on. Just 15 hours ago in this same post we were reminded to knock it off with the critiquing... can you just not help yourself??
