I was thinking of getting a Mandrin Dragonet -spotted from my lfs. I just wanted to run it by you guys to see if it would be ok to put in my 45 gal tank. The tank is little over a year, and has the following;
40 lbs lr
1-lawnmover fish
2-per clowns
1-fire shrimp
1-peppermint shrimp
1-CB shrimp
1- hammer coral
1-colt
1-star polyp
1-sebae anemone
1-long tentacle anemone
1-sand sifting star
cleaning crew
I know that the Mandrin eat pods, but to tell you the truth I have no idea what pods look like, and if I have any in my tank. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

I have one in my 55, pods look like little bugs crawling around on the sand and live rock, you should see a lot of them at night. I would also recommend a little more live rock. If you have a sump with a refuge you could easily get away with it.

I think it may be possible with a little more LR and the use of a sump/fuge. I personally wouldn't recommend in a tank less than a 55 gal, but if you have a lot of LR and a nice sump/fuge set-up, you may be able to get away with it... If you don't you will probably only have short term success, as their primary food source is microfauna, which IMO, I don't think your tanks quite ready for...
