I noticed today that he eats frozen brime shrimp he did not take the mysis that i tried a few days ago. Question is should I still supplement with copepods if hes not going to eat them I dont want them taking over breeding like crazy. I know hell eat some but if hes eating frozen brime i shouldn't have to dose anymore should I.

only pods will keep him healthy in the long run.
they need the fat that pods are made of to survive long term.
why do you have to add pods?
dont you have a sump with lr in it for the pods to breed?
if not i would set one up it will be cheaper in the long run rather than spending $20 a pop for the bottle of pods.
cool that you got the mandarin to eat frozen though tough to do.

Yes. Copepods are his main diet.

you should. cause the other fish will eat it as well.
And because it is his main diet. He may eat your brine, but the majority of the nutricion he needs comes from those pods.
Pods have a controllable population due to their food supplies. When their numbers get to great their food supplies diminish causing their numbers to dissipate.. They will never just grow and grow in numbers...

I had a frozen eating mandarin for 8 years in a barebottom fuge-less tank. That tank was void of pods. We can't say the OPs is going to die without the pods if he is on an adequate frozen diet.... mine shows that. I keep reading that, but it has not been my experience.
Brineshrimp is not an adequate frozen died, IMO and he should still be supplemented.

I went to the LFS to get his opinion, and he stated while I got really really lucky because I have only had it about a week or two that it took frozen food at all. He stated to me that once its accepting frozen food that its easier to get it to accept others, hes suggesting that i feed my fish 1/2 brime 1/2 mysis mixes since he will feed on the brime he will eat mysis that is in the tank also and should soon start accepting it on its own without a mix.
Makes since however, this is my first time with a picky eater. Btw i recorded it, the video is fuzzy but ill try to YT it.
