I have had a Mandarin for about 4 months now. Today I noticed her rear tail fin shreaded along with one of her side fins. I have a small Naso, BlueJaw, LM Blenny and a Christmas Wrasse. Non of these fish have ever shown aggression towards each other. Any ideas?

Maybe the christmas wrasse??? what type of inverts do you have with your fish. that is more likely...

I have a Peppermint shrimp and 5 Emerald Crabs along with the general snails and blue leg hermits.
Hmmm, maybe one of the hermits got a hold of her? Other than that I would say the Christmas wrasse. They can be kind of aggressive I think. Is it a large one? Does she look fine now??

The Christmas wrasse is only about 3 1/2 inches. She is still alive, but her fins look shredded. I have never seen even a modest aggressive act with any of these fish. Very strange.

It is strange sometimes. Maybe she got spooked and scraped herself up on some rocks too?? I am betting it was one of the hermits though........keep a close watch on her for any signs of illness or lack of eating......
