Mandarin sensitivity to hyypo?

I am making a tank switch for my brother today since the old tank has had parasites in the past I would like to let it run fish less for a month.
Old tank contains mandarin, cherub angel, and a fire fish goby. The angel is problematic (hyper active) may have some low level parasite infection causing this and he and the firefish are going to LFS. None of the fish have shown any outward signs of parasite infection for a few months but I would rather play it safe.
Question is how sensitive mandarins are to hypo treatment. I have a QT tank that I am bringing the salinity down on starting today and could add the mandarin to this tank to hypo with a scopas tang.
I should not have a problem with the mandarins dietary needs for its stay in this QT. Fish excepts frozen mysid and enriched live brine. I seem to remember reading somewhere that mandarins do poorly with low salinity levels. I would hate to loose this fish since it has been successfully food trained.
