oh dude you are going to get flamed on this one
mandarins are a touchy subject. you want to have 1 mandarin per like 120 pounds of MATURE rockwork. better that you are asking and didnt just go out and buy one. but NO you shouldent have (2) mandarins in a 55 unless you want to dose with copepods and that can get expensive real fast. mandarins need to go about the rockwork and hunt for small crustaceans (spelling) called copepods. if the tank is too small he will eat them all and eventuially starve.

i would say one if you have a very large, VERY mature refugium. i have seen it done in tanks that size....... But that owuld cost a lot to set up......
otherwise, no

I have one in my 55 gal, but and i say but, i have a fuge, full of pods, and she eats frozen mysis. she is very fat and happy, but if i didnt have the fuge, i think she would not survive. they need to have lots of pods, a. It is a plus, if you can get them to eat frozen, and brine. I would not put two together.

the problem is that most refuse to be weened over to frozen foods. i remember when you got yours teresaq1, and you were jsut lucky to have gotten one that eats frozen. yes some do eat frozen, but the number is very very few and it is very very very very rare to be able to train one to do so.

Thanks For The Advice Everyone, It Will Be With A 20gal. Refugium With A Total Of 100lbs Of Live Rock (main + Fuge). I Will Stick To 1 Dragonet And Wait Until Tank Is Very Mature And Full Of Pods.
What Is Everyones Favorite Dragonet?

well if you really do have 100lbs of live rock, and have that system one will do well, but remember they are extremely tough to raise....but cool looking

Don't seem tough to me to raise. You don't even have to feed them :p I have one in a 55 gallon tank with 3-4 inches of live sand and about 60 lbs of live rock. He's been growing and plump for 8 months.
