Manderin

My tank has been up for almost a year. It will be a year in Nov. I want a manderin. I need to move my tank in the next month due to new carpet. I plan to use the same water. Is my tank ready for a manderin. I know they are hard to keep because you need a copod population. Will I lose them when I move the tank? Also I have about 100lbs of LR. I am adding a little at a time. Most of it has been in the tank 9 months. When my tank skimmer siphoned about 50 gallons of water all over my house on vacation (reason for the carpet install), the tank shut down because it burnt up the surge. I saw a lot of copepods swimming in the tank. What do you think? Does he need to be the last added?

You can always start him out in your fuge for like a week or so then move him to the main tank, i have done that b4 and had sucess with it

If you have no other pod eater in the tank you should be OK IMHO. Does the tank have a sump/refugium as part of the filtration system?

I have a 6 line wrasse. I heard later that he eats copods. True? No sump or refugium yet. Coming in Nov.
The wrasse will eat pods. You should still be fine, but if it were me I would consider waiting till the refugium is in place or be willing to supplement with live pods.
