I really like the mandrine dragonets. My LFS has them in stock often but I never see them in tank photos on the site. Are the very difficult to keep? Anyways anyone with experience please reply.

Dragonets need an established mature tank with alot of LR,and preferably 75 gal. or bigger with at least 100 Lbs of LR.Ideal set-up also includes an attached thriving refugium..as their main diet is live copepods. They will sometimes pick at prepared foods, but will actively hunt all day for their preferred diet.

^^^ completely agree with the above post. Mandarins are only for large mature tanks
On another note, I am really surprised that you havent found any pics of them on here! They are all over. Try a search on mandarins, you might have spelled it wrong

Great shot promisetbg.
One pro the dragonets have going for them is that they are pretty darn hardy and fend just about all desease and parasites. It's just the pod issue that sends so many to an early grave.
A very beautiful and interesting fish.

Beautiful, promisetbg!
Is that an encrusting gorgonia beside him? I seem to have a ton of pods scurrying on the surface of my encrusting, and was wondering if that's normal.

Here are mine:

I have two because I thought the spotted had died (it disappeared 3 days after being put in the tank). My LFS gave me a new green one to replace it. Five weeks later I found the spotted one alive and well in my overflow.

My dragonet is not as pretty as yours but just look at that sail!! I'm trying to get an updated picture of this scooter with his sail out but it's actually a sign of aggression and he's not very aggressive.
