Mangrove And Blue Tang

I wanted to add a few Mangroves to my existing reef. However, they are not tall enought to reach about the waterline. So I have two Questions:
1) Can Mangroves live completelyu submerged and
2) will A Blue Tank eat the leaves like they do most other plantlife.

I had several in my show tank that did not make the water line blue tang did not bother but sail fin ate great

over all mangrovers and macro work the same you just have to watch out to make sure the mangrove leaes do not fall back into the water bc that will polute it
