Mangroves benifitial???

got a couple of mangrove shoots....what does everyone think about them?

I know they prove usefull in brackish tanks but not sure how they will fair in full sw

i got some Cheato from a fello, and i got some of this mangrove too., I just never heard of it and was trying to get some info.

Well, the red mangroves can live in SW, BW, or FW, but needs to be acclimated SLOWLY to a different salinity.
They are a poor nutrient exporter, compared to caulerpa, chaeto, and other actual algaes.
Watch their root growth also.
They also need more lighting than macro's do.

I have seen it grown on brackish tanks unlike cheato only the root is submersed in the water placed on eggcrate tops with sunlamps(growlights) above them.

ill just keep with my cheato i think and do away with the other. I got them in a bag of cheato i recieved , if they are not a good nutrient export, i dont want them taking up space in my fuge. Thanks yall!
