Mangroves

If you can get them for free, go for it. Otherwise don't waste your money because they are not very good exporters or nitrates and phosphates. Go with chaeto or caulerpa (caulerpa goes se.xual, so it is not generally advised to get).
Really chaetomorpha does a very good job

Mangroves put out roots that spread and then shoot out new trees. Cleaner clams will die shortly. They are all cold water clams. Shoulda saved money by going to a supermarket that sells live clams. Same thing and alot cheaper. Out of the 5 I bought from SWF, 4 were dead in a week. The last guy guy held on for about a month. They made for expensive puffer and hawkfish food. I bought 23 at the supermarket and a couple lasted for about 3 months. The 23 cost $4. The 5 cost $10 + shipping.

I've never had caulerpa go se.xual on me in the last 12 years of reef keeping. Coral Keeper did, but he saw it fogging and took it out before it could do any damage. The reason his went se.xual was that he changed his yellowed PC lights to a more powerful metal halide. I believe the change in lighting and an increase in nutrient levels caused it's natural ability to go se.xual. JMO.
Chaeto is good, but when dealing with high nutrient levels, nothing can compete with how quickly caulerpa grows.
